The Music Box

Future Sounds Archive is a collaborative project curated by sound designer Thomas Williams. Thomas created a collection of sounds for objects, technologies and environments set 20 years into the future. Each artist was then asked to create a visual response to one of the sounds.

We were given ‘The Music Box’ and imagined what music boxes in the future would be capable of, could they learn to play all by themselves?

This project was an exploration in time, space and interpretation. Taking everyday sounds like public transport, communication and toys, Thomas put a futuristic spin on objects and asked different illustrators and animators to interpret these soundscapes.

For my piece I was given 'The Music Box'. Perhaps in this futurist world our toys or music boxes come alive to their own sounds. Enjoy.
